Giving is LOVING Neighbors

Since God loved us so much, we also ought to love one another. (1 John 4:11)

B

lessed Jesus, guide us to follow your will to love one another as much as you have loved us. Help us to love God with our whole heart, soul, mind, and strength and guide us to be generous with our time and money to express your love to our neighbors in all parts of the world. Shower your blessings on this food that it will empower us to fulfill your wish for our lives. Hear our prayer, O Christ. Amen

Giving is HELPING Others

What good is it if you say you have faith but do not have works? (James 2:14)

J

esus, you have taught us to love our neighbors as much as we love ourselves. We pray for your help so we may love one another and help our neighbors next door and around the globe. Guide us to give generously so that we can heal the sick, clothe the naked, free the oppressed, feed the hungry, and spread your love around the world. Bless this food and help us to remember all those who are hungry on this day. Amen.

Giving is PRAISING God

You will be enriched in every way for your great generosity. (2 Cor. 9.11)

O

God, help us to live so our lives are an expression of our praise for you. Guide us to share our time and money to help others. Help us to remember that your love for us is never ending and that our love for others should be the same. Bless the food we are about to eat and bless those who grew it, processed it, and cooked it so that we could enjoy this feast. We pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Giving is SERVING Jesus

Serve the Lord … Contribute to the needs of the saints; extend hospitality to strangers. (Romans 12:11,13)

O

God, help us to love Jesus, love one another, love our neighbors and even love our enemies as you have commanded. Focus our lives on what is good and help us combat what is evil in our lives and world. Help us be generous in giving to the saints of your church. Bless this food that it may strengthen us for serving you. We pray these things in Jesus’ name. Amen.
