Christian Education Opportunities

 

Friendship Class – A series on Methodist beliefs, theology, social principles, and history will be taught by Eddie Emmett during the fall season.  A variety of sources are being used throughout the study.  The class will meet in the annex off of the sanctuary with fellowship beginning at 9:45am and study time at 10:00am.  All interested adults are encouraged to be a part of this study this fall season.

 

Seekers Class – This class will use more of a small group discussion format to discuss the challenges of families today.   This will be a great way for parents of school-aged kids to support one another and learn the path God wants us to take as parents.  They will use the “Parenting on Point” curriculum.

 

Teens and Tweens Class – The youth will be asked the question “Who is this Jesus?” during the fall season which will be thoroughly covering the biblical accounts of Jesus as a “Man with a Mission.”  This study will include the historical Jesus, the spiritual Jesus, and Jesus as a teacher, friend and savior.  Youth will be prepared to answer this important question as it arises in their everyday life by diligently pursuing this course.

 

Super Kids Class – Factors that affect children’s decisions as they continue in elementary school will be offered in a combined study of God’s creation, virtues that build character and activities that underscore Christian beliefs and practices at the elementary level.  Christine Anderson is the teacher of this very important age group. Curriculum will include faith files, basic ethics for children and the age-old popular writing of Noah Webster in his advice to the young.

 

Sunbeams Class – The name has been changed by popular demand from Butterflies to Sunbeams, as announced last week.  The all new Methodist curriculum “Rock Solid-Building a Heart of Faith” for preschool – kindergarten aged children.  This new series is taught be Marlene Budd and includes a variety of Bible stories, basic Christian teaching and fun crafts and songs.

 

Toddlers, Woddlers and Lambs Nursery – The teacher will be provided with a book called “The Rock-a-bye Series” in which specific guidelines are outlined in the care and teaching of very young children.

 

The members of the Disciple Class will meet each Monday from 7pm – 9:30pm in the Fellowship Hall.  The well recognized curriculum is being used for this far reaching class.

 

Ladies Bible Study – There will be a ladies Bible study on Friday mornings at 10am and is led by Lisa McMahan.  The topic of this study will be decided by the group.

 

Youth Group – The youth, led by Hilary Gill, will meet every other Sunday from 5pm – 7pm starting September 20.
